Missionary Committee

The Missionary Committee is a very active committee in our Church. We are well-supported by our church and local community and have dedicated ourselves to providing meals and snacks to the food-insecure in our local region. The Missionary Committee currently sends monthly monetary donations to South Meadow School Food Pantry and St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. We also support End 68 Hours of Hunger with monthly donations, as well as, supplying monthly donations of healthy snacks to two local schools. We have also reached out to support students on the reduced lunch program, and the breakfast/lunch program during the Covid-19 epidemic. Our primary mission is the Faith Food Pantry of the Congregational Church of Temple, NH. Established in January 2017, we provide meals and snacks to folks in eleven area towns. Last year we provided food for over 39,000 meals. The pantry is open twice a month and is welcome to everyone. The open hours of the pantry are the first Wednesday, (5-7 pm), and the third Saturday (9 am -12 Noon) of each month with no appointment necessary. The pantry is located at #338, RTE. 45, Temple, NH. Locals know it as the bus barn behind the Parsonage. Access is via the driveway between the parish house on Leighton Lane and Birchwood Inn. If you, or anyone you know, are food-insecure, we invite you to the Faith Food Pantry. If you have food to share, the pantry accepts non-perishable food and personal items. All items donated are distributed to our clients. The Missionary Committee's main focus is local. We reach out to our church members, our town, our school district, our local towns and our state. In times of crisis, we also contribute to national causes such as the Red Cross.
